Here We Go

It shouldn't surprise me when I go to CCRM and end up paying them lots of money. If I haven't mentioned it before I will now. Unfortunatley, we do not have infertility coverage so we are paying out of pocket. We have been saving like crazy and have the money but boy do I hate to depart from it. I know this is going to work and in the end I will have a better attitude about the costs. To answer a question I know I had... yes, CCRM is open on Sunday's. Here is our breakdown of the fees today.
Today's bloodwork for me included my CD3 & communicables...
AMH-$135
Estradiol-$115
FSH-$115
Hep B-$65
Hep B Core-$60
Hep C-$115
HIV 1-HIV 2 Plus O-$65
LH-$115
RPR-$35
Venipuncture-$20 (blood draw)
Total: $840

Husband had is bloodwork done today too his cost was $360. So all together we paid
$1200.

Now off to Vail for fun!

Heading to CO

We are traveling to CO & CCRM this weekend to do bloodwork and for husband to provide 1 of 3 frozen backup SA samples. AF should be coming on Friday. We are not just going to CO for that infertility stuff but our friends invited us on a FREE Snowboarding trip so we will be in Vail, CO M-Th next week. Can't wait! Tomorrow I am having bloodwork done at my local clinic to save me some money. I am also getting tested to see if I am a CF carrier.

35

Today I am 35. I keep telling others that are younger than me that is sounds worst than it really is.  Believe me I would never want to be in my twenties again, I really enjoy being in my 30's. Basically just another day today, hopefully CCRM won't make me get a mammogram, they origianlly crossed that off my list but that is when I was 34. We shall see when I go there in 2 weeks.

The Daily Grind

So what am I doing in the mean time… I love running and doing P90X. We did P90X when we got married and saw amazing results. Now I just do the workouts whenever I want to or when I have time to. I don't follow it religiously like I did when we got married but it's still a great workout. We live in Arizona so right now the weather is just cool for us. Believe it or not we want to move out of Arizona, the summer's are brutal. Imagine a blast furnace everytime you step out the door starting in June all the way until October and then it's still 100 in October. We have always wanted to move to Colorado and plan on doing so but I wanted to have a baby first because I have maternity leave with my job. Who knew it would end of like this, us having to travel to Colorado in order to conceive our first child. Oh well, I am going to make the best of this experience and someday I will live in Colorado.

January

I feel like I don't have much to post yet about this experience. Right now we are just waiting for the months to pass and saving money like crazy. I am CD3 today so it's just another cycle. I will be doing my 3day blood work at CCRM in February so that is my next step. At that point I will hopefully get my calendar for our egg retrival in April. I am slightly concerned with my FSH as it has been tested twice now at 8.9 & 9. I know that is on the higher end as they like to see it below 10-11. I have asked several times if they were concerned and they said not a all. I do like the fact that they make me feel like our case it easy but I wish I truley felt that way. As of December they told me I did not need to do the clomid challenge.
I know when the time comes for all the shots and other fun stuff I will post tons of pictures.

If at first you don't conceive

I may be a little late on reading "If at first you don't conceive" written by Dr. William Schoolcraft but better late than never. I must admit I didn't even know he wrote a book. I will say I wish I would have read it before this entire process but I will say the infertility clinic in Arizona I picked out was amazing. I didn't waste any money with them as they found out what was wrong right away and suggested we go to CCRM. Dr. Schoolcraft is not my doctor but he is the Director at CCRM.One number from the book that shocked me was that there are "7.3 million woman and their partners in the US that are unable to have children from infertility challenges". I will report on the book again after I finish it.

So Excited For 2011

I am happy that 2010 is behind us and now we have 2011 to look forward to. I know this year will be a busy one for us since we are planning on doing the ER in April. I feel like it's right around the corner. I am so glad we are waiting to start all of this because it  really helps husband and myself prepare mentally, physically and financially. We are waiting to do the 3 day blood draw until February because we are going to actually do it at CCRM. Husband's friends invited us to stay free at a house in Vail and it just so happens that it's during my cycle. I guess that works out...husband will also provide one of 3 back up samples.
