The Day After

Well, I am feeling a little disappointed we couldn't start this month. It's hard to believe I was suppose to start Lupron tomorrow. I need to stop thinking about it. I have read all the wonderful comments, thanks for the support. I said NO to beer last night so that's a start.
I read the comment from CCRMJOURNEY and I am going to talk to CCRM regarding that protocol. It sounds like it would work for me. I have to give it a shot because how many times will I be cancelled due to cysts.  Here is the protocol if you want to read about it...http://ccrmjourney.wordpress.com/2010/09/02/prometrium-lupron-overlap-protocol/
As far as getting my body healthy. I think only working 40 hours a week is going to do the trick. I started working less this week and I already feel a million times better. I am not as tired and I have not had any caffeine this week.

Cancelled...

Well, we have to cancel this cycle due to that damn cyst. Nurse Annie called and Dr. Surrey said it's a no go. They said with the protocol that I am on, it does not work well with cysts. I thank them for that because I would sure hate to spend all this money on a shitty egg retrieval. The one positive thing I found out was...the cyst I had back in December was on my left ovary. This one is on my right ovary. So they do come and go as they please. I am going to do some home remedies and go to acupuncture. I am not going to be mad or sad that it didn't happen for us this month. I am going to take this time to relax and try to be really healthy. I had been working like a mad women these last 4 months and my body is pissed at me so I need to just let it be happy. NO MORE BEER! I love beer and will have a beer whenever I want and then tend to drink too much beer when I am hanging out with the fam. I will defiantly try to cut back!

U/S & Bloodwork

So I had my u/s & blood work this morning. Still have that damn cyst. I don't know what CCRM will do, whether we are cycling this month or not.  I sure wish they would tell me as that was done at 9am my time which would be 10am Colorado time. STILL have not heard back. I need to know by 4pm today so I can tell Todd's Pharmacy to ship out the Lupron. It is only good for 1 month and I don't want to have to reorder it again if we are not cycling this month.  UGH, the wait is killing me! I am about to blow up everyone's phone right now and make sure shit is getting done.

A Week Of Many Posts

This week is super busy for me. Busy in a good way...so I hope!

Tuesday: I take my last birth control pill

Wednesday: Lab work done. Estradiol, Progesterone & Ultrasound rule out CYSTS!

Friday: Start taking 20 units for Lupron every 12 hrs & dexamethasone at bedtime (continue this for entire cycle)

I am hoping there is no cyst and we can actually get to Friday. Stim Meds arrive tomorrow.

Another Friday

I finally ordered all of my meds. Ended up using Fertility Freedom. I tried using ivfmeds.com but my nurse said "I found out our doctors do not want patients ordering medications form ivf.com due to lack of quality control and over seas shipping. Sorry if that creates a hassle for you, but it's definitely for your benefit." So I didn't argue and just ordered from Freedom. In case you are interested the meds were only $2800 at ivfmeds.com compared to the $4000 I will be paying with Freedom.

I had a crazy week and did what I could for workouts.

Monday: ran 4 miles
Tuesday: Jillian (Ripped In 30 video)
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: 5k race & ran 1.5 extra
Friday: Jillian (Ripped in 30 video) & run 4 miles
Saturday: Run 5 miles; 1 hr. chair pilates

I was reading in the CCRM manual that you shouldn't work out while doing stims. Anyone know if that's true?

So Much Going On

I feel like I always have so much going on with this infertility stuff. Make appointments, email/call IVF nurse. Just a bunch of stuff. On top of that add work and then on top of that I got picked as a Juror on a trail this entire week. UHG!
Trying to make it through this week, this past weekend was great. I worked of course but we also ran Pat's Run. It's a 4.2 mile run for the Pat Tillman Foundation. A fallen solider that played football at ASU. What an amazing event, it turned out 28,000 people! Of course after the event everyone hits the bars at 8am.
I have my u/s& blood work schedule for next Wednesday, we will see then if we are given the green light for starting the stims May 1st. All very exciting!
Here's a pic from the after the race.

The Calendar

Well I got my calendar from CCRM. My nurse called and left a message this morning with all the order for the drugs. It makes me so nervous to think about it all. I have yet to call them back. I will shortly. But here is my calendar. I called the Freedom Pharmacy that CCRM uses and boy things are not cheap. Grand total. $4566.88...HOLY SHIT! I don't have coverage for IVF meds so it's all out of pocket. I know it's worth it and can't wait until this part is over.

It Begins

Today is CD1 for me. I emailed our nurse Annie and just waiting for what is next. Hopefully the cyst is gone and if not hopefully it's not too big so we can begin this cycle. I am really anxious to finally start this process and feel so grateful that we have saved all the money to do so.

Finally Friday

So much going on personally every week, makes me so happy we decided to wait another month to start this process. I am finally quitting my second job. I have been working 2 jobs for forever and was going to quit a long time ago but then we found out we have to pay 20,000 to have kids and well I kept that job. We have saved the money and  I gave my 2 weeks and will finally have time to enjoy a little down time. I have been working 75 hours a week with both jobs, I don't recommend this.
What's ahead...I found a new acupuncturist. Someone who specializes in infertility treatment. I didn't tell you all but during my first acupuncture appointment the acupuncturist ask me if I was going to have 8 kids like octo-mom. I didn't think anything of it at the time. She knew what I was seeing her for and we went over a plan but....anyways the next day on my run I thought about that comment and it made me so upset. I wrote her an email telling her I will not be seeing her anymore and I will be seeing someone who specializes in infertility. I really hate people who try to make a profit off of others people's problems.

This week’s workout routine. I like to do more lifting but worked too much, only found time to run.
Sunday: Off
Monday: 4 miles
Tuesday: Jillian Michael's
Wednesday: Off
Thursday: 5 miles
Friday: 6 miles
Saturday: 4 miles; chair pilates

Fitness Friday

I don't have much to blog about until I start my cycle here in a couple weeks. Until then I try to be heathly by eating right and exercising. I just love running and this time of year in AZ, it’s truly beautiful. I know I won't be saying that come July/August when it's hot as hell.

Anyways, if you are looking for an amazing breakfast try one of Dr. Oz's Magic Breakfast Smoothie. I have one every day except on Sunday. It completely keeps me full until lunchtime. I use to eat oatmeal and hard boiled eggs but now I can't live without this.  Here is the recipe I wrote in some notes on how I like it. Modify it however you like. Eventually, I would love to have a clean diet and that is something I am working towards but it takes time.
Dr Oz’s Magic Breakfast Blaster Smoothie Recipe- makes 2 servings, 136 calories per serving
Ingredients:
1/2 large ripe banana, broken into chunks (or other fruit of your choice)
1 scoop (1/3 cup) protein (I use 2 scoops &I don't like Soy it's too chalky I only like
Country Life Bio-Chem Whey Protein Vanilla)
1/2 tbsp flaxseed oil
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 tbsp apple juice concentrate or honey (Dr.Oz recommends this but I don't think it's needed)
1 tsp psyllium seed husks
8 oz water
Directions:
Blend everything well in a blender.  You can also add ice cubes or powdered vitamins if you would like!

Eventually, I would love to have a clean diet and that is something I am working towards but it takes time. Right now I can’t imagine giving up so many yummy foods.

Wednesday: off-too busy
