So Grateful To Be Here

8 weeks that is. With every passing Thursday I am ever so grateful because it marks a new week of this pregnancy. Sure I am still fearful it can all be taken away, I think that is mainly due to the spotting. So far things have been going pretty well. I am not showing by any means but most of my pants don't fit, too tight. I have to admit they were tight months ago from gaining a few pounds for IVF and lack of exercise.  Fortunately, I have some "fat" pants from years ago that I am able to use until I really need to purchase maternity closes.

As far as morning sickness goes. Well, I have not been puking but I am nauseous all day long. It's hard to eat 3 meals a day. The thought, sight and smell of any food just makes me sick. We can't even cook anything at home because the smells make me feel even more sick. My stomach is always growling at me. I usually can only fruit and toast and nothing with sugar! I have a huge sweet tooth so not having or wanting anything sweet is not normal for me. Needless to say I have not gained any wait, I actually lost a few pounds but I think that is due to losing muscle from not exercising in so long. I don't mind the daily nausea at all, it gives me hope that I am still pregnant. I sure can't wait though to start enjoying some food again. I keep telling myself it will be very soon!

I did email CC.RM regarding the spotting and if I could switch to the PIO shot and they said I could but it would be better if I could just finish with what I am doing now since we are close to weaning off the meds. I have my labs checked today. So I am going to suck it up and finish with the suppositories. I am trying to not put them near my cervix when I insert them. I have a feeling I am not going to be changing my dosage for at least another week.

Next week I have 2 ultrasounds one that CC.RM orders and the other is my first visit to my OB.

In the mean time this is how I fixed some of my pants so they fit. I got the idea from pinterest!

  6. Krista - sorry you are feeling so nauseous. I didn't gain but 2 lb in 1st trimester, so I think it is common not to gain. I like the pants idea. Wish I had a sewing machine. Good luck with the weaning. You will probably start feeling better once you wean down off the meds.

  10. Sounds like things are going well... I kinda wish I was not so ravenous so I could keep the weight gain in check. Oh well. It's nice to have those reminders that something's going on even if it's annoying/comfortable, isn't it? Cute pants fix!

  11. I'm terribly nauseated too. I feel your pain with the smells as those make everything worse. I don't complain though as they are good and positive pregnancy signs!

    Yay for 8 weeks!!

  12. YEA on 8 weeks!!!!! I am actually (which I should bite my tongue now) asking for nausea! I know not everyone will get it, but it makes me a bit nervous not to have it bc I usually have a sensitive stomach to begin with. Keep up the positivity!!!

  14. Awesome! So happy! Can't wait for more and more weeks! About the weight gain...it can come on really fast once you get your appetite back. I ate lots in my first trimester and am above the range now. So you're off to a good and very normal start!!
