Gyno Consult

Well my consult with my gyno today was pretty quick. She is nice, but I definaltey don't plan on staying with her once I get pregnant. I really want someone who knows about infertility. We talked about the endo biopsy, she said she doesn't think I need it but, there is something to be said about a "piece of mind". She said if I wanted to I could schedule it this week. I didn't do that as I am going to do more research. I asked if the test would affect my FET in December and she said no, they take such a small amount. I guess if I do this and everything turns out OK, maybe I would transfer two embryos. I am still deciding about that too. I don't know if my husband and I would be able to handle two, at once. I am sure we would figure it out quickly but we have no family to help us and going from no babies to two babies, scares us. But then again, we would be done and have our two! To Be Continued...

  1. I just had an endo biopsy today! I have read a decent amount about it in the past and some think it helps with implantation (and possibly finding issues) while others don't think it helps implantation, but none really say it negatively affects anything. I thought I was going for a saline u/s and RE3 said we were going to do one after I got on the table.....pretty much sucked, but if it helps!!

  3. I hear ya on wanting a gyno that understands IF. It's definitely something I'll be looking for!

Good luck deciding what to do - I don't know much about endo biopsies. Would your insurance cover it? I feel like that's a huge deciding factor since your RE doesn't feel like it's necessary... peace of mind is nice, but if it's super expensive, maybe not so much? I dunno...

  4. Good luck with whatever you decide - endo biopsies are not the nicest things in the world, but they aren't the worst either.

  5. Always difficult deciding on further testing...best of luck with your decision. It's exciting that you're going to be transferring so soon!

  6. As always, follow what you want. Don't let anyone tell you different....too many girls have learned that the wrong way here. One vs two....keep you heart and mind open...it will come to you.

  7. Some women do the endo biopsy before FET just to increase their chances of implantation, not even to test the tissue. Any scratching or poking of the endometrium is supposed to help, don't ask me why, but I know of many that do so and my RE #2 recommends it as a regular practice.

Dan and I were just talking about twins last night. He freaks out at the thought of it. I think it's not like having 2, I would say it would be like having 1.5 babies, ha! Just like cooking, cooking for 2 is not like cooking 2 times, you just have to do a little more. Well, of course not talking by experience :-) Also, I think they can entertain each other you know? I love the idea of twins! Can you tell? ;-)

  8. This would be my dilemma also (one or two). I don't have an answer for you. I have the exact same thought though (2 would be awesome--we'd be done vs. crap, can we handle 2).
