Last Day of 2011 and More Spotting

I could really do without the spotting. It's not a lot and it's definitely brown but it is still there. It came last night before I went to bed and then it pretty much stops. No cramping is included at all, so that makes me feel a little better. TMI here: When I put my suppositories in last night and this morning and I checked my cervix and if feels very, very soft. I had a leep done in 2006 so my cervix is cut diagonal. I am hoping this is where the spotting is coming from. I will remember for the next FET to get a PIO shots instead, I wonder if it's too late to switch now? I am not going to call CCRM but I am going to call my OB on Tuesday. I already have an appointment with them on Jan. 12 but I am so freaked out about this cervix.

I am grateful for everything that happened in 2011. There were many cancelled cycles, many shots and many tears but it is all worth it because we finally got our BFP. I am however, so ready for 2012 to be here. Each week of 2012 will bring us closer to meeting this little one.

                                                      Happy New Year Everyone!

  1. I am pretty sure that it is not too late to switch to PIO shots - I've seen numerous people switch from one to the other halfway through. I would call CCRM today if you can - no need to irritate your cervix anymore than is necessary. Good luck! I hope the spotting goes away!!!!

  2. I'm glad it's brown and old... to sound like a broken record, try not to worry!!

I can't wait until you have your little one in your arms and it's a whole different type of worry you're trying to avoid! :)

  3. I had brown spotting until about week 8 or so...it is nerve-wracking but completely normal. The PIO shots will definitely boost your P2 levels and help with the spotting which will help you feel more at ease. I did both (suppositories for one FET and PIO for one FET,) and I definitely felt better about the PIO shots...it kept my P2 nice and high!

  4. Why does IF have to mess with our heads when we finally get what we want....a BFP??? I would def call to see if you can switch to PIO shots. My nurse mentioned that if all is good on Tuesday they may switch me to suppositories, but honestly, with the amount of people that spot bc of them, I'd rather get stuck each night!! Brown is good though!!!

  5. I had spotting all the way to 10 weeks off and on. It was still scary even though it was not anything to worry about. Once I got off the P2 suppositories it stopped. I definitely think there is something to the supplements causing irritation. Hang in there!

  6. I can imagine you're still worried about the spotting but just keep reminding yourself that it's the suppositories. You saw that baby and heard his/her heartbeat - I'm sure all is well. Happy New Year Krista!

  7. Hey you. I don't get it...I thought everyone at CCRM had to do PIO shots. I didn't know there was a choice. I hear it's easier to track in the blood stream. I did both. PIO and suppositories. If CCRM is monitoring your progesterone, they will have to decide the dose and the switch protocol....so not sure why you don't want to call them. Spotting may just be part of the deal for you now but after that ultrasound...I'm sure nothing to worry about. Happy New Year!

  8. Hi Krista, am just back from my India trip and catching up. I am so relieved you made it through that scare and everything is okay with the little bean! Hope you're able to switch to PIO and that the spotting clears up. So happy for you!

  9. I did both too. My progesterone dropped to a dangerous level - still wonder if that was the reason I lost my pregnancy. I'm sure your levels are checking out fine or they would have put you on it. You can always ask to switch. The needle is crazy long and I could not give myself the shot. I have no trouble at all giving myself the belly shots.

I can't wait until you are further along and enjoying your pregnancy.

  10. I'm sorry you're dealing with spotting. As the other ladies have posted, it's very common in the first trimester. Doesn't make it any less scary but I definitely kept reminding myself of that during my spotting. But I agree-talk with your nurse about other options if the spotting's from the medication.
    Happy New Year Momma!
