Fitness Friday

I don't have much to blog about until I start my cycle here in a couple weeks. Until then I try to be heathly by eating right and exercising. I just love running and this time of year in AZ, it’s truly beautiful. I know I won't be saying that come July/August when it's hot as hell.

Anyways, if you are looking for an amazing breakfast try one of Dr. Oz's Magic Breakfast Smoothie. I have one every day except on Sunday. It completely keeps me full until lunchtime. I use to eat oatmeal and hard boiled eggs but now I can't live without this.  Here is the recipe I wrote in some notes on how I like it. Modify it however you like. Eventually, I would love to have a clean diet and that is something I am working towards but it takes time.
Dr Oz’s Magic Breakfast Blaster Smoothie Recipe- makes 2 servings, 136 calories per serving
Ingredients:
1/2 large ripe banana, broken into chunks (or other fruit of your choice)
1 scoop (1/3 cup) protein (I use 2 scoops &I don't like Soy it's too chalky I only like
Country Life Bio-Chem Whey Protein Vanilla)
1/2 tbsp flaxseed oil
1/4 cup frozen blueberries
1/2 tbsp apple juice concentrate or honey (Dr.Oz recommends this but I don't think it's needed)
1 tsp psyllium seed husks
8 oz water
Directions:
Blend everything well in a blender.  You can also add ice cubes or powdered vitamins if you would like!

Eventually, I would love to have a clean diet and that is something I am working towards but it takes time. Right now I can’t imagine giving up so many yummy foods.

  2. OMG, I can't believe you do P90X, my husband does it and it's a killer, I've only done the yoga one I'm afraid to try the others, lol. I do run too and I've been doing the Jillian Michaels DVD's :-)

Good job! It's great to try to be in the best shape before all this shots start.

  3. Love the shake too! The psyllium makes is filling too. I wonder if you still get the nutrients of the other ingredients when adding the psyllium?
